Rotary Global Scholars
The Rotary Club of Cambridge is part of Rotary District 7930 – one of 100 districts throughout the world that have been selected for the Rotary Future Vision pilot program.
District 7930 plans to support one or more Rotary Global Scholar each year from 2010 to 2013.
In the year beginning July 1, 2011, one grant of $30,000 is budgeted.
Global Scholar grants may be used to provide funding for academic studies provided that they:
u Fund graduate-level study that relates to one or more of Rotary's six areas of focus:
– Water and sanitation
– Basic education and literacy
– Economic and community development
– Disease prevention and treatment
– Maternal and child health
– Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
u Fund studies for a term of one to four academic years
At the time of application, the following documents and information must be provided:
u A letter of acceptance to the proposed school
u Language proficiency exam results for the language used in the course of study.
u Rotary information for the location in which the scholar will be studying
(to be secured by Cambridge Rotary).
Application and Timing
The award process for 2010 has been completed. The Schedule for the 2011 selection will be available early in the year.
